I recently started re-reading “Emergence: The Shift from Ego to Essence 10 Steps to the Universal Humanâ€
by Barbara Marx Hubbard. I first read it in about 2002, just after it was published and loved how in alignment it is with coaching and the work I do with women in accessing their internal wisdom and essence. I worked through the 10 step process and feel I really connected with my own wise internal self at that time. I have found that it is easy to lose the process and energy and get pulled back into ego. I know this is part of the journey.
I really like though, how Barbara describes our two selves in non-hierarchical terms ie she uses the terms “local self” and “essential self”.
In reading this amazing book again, I am reminded of it’s simplicity and elegance. I also love the organizational model it is centered around, ie co-creation and the fact that it emcompasses a total historical and whole sytems way of viewing our planet.
