The quality of generosity has been showing up all over the place this month for me, likely in no small part due to the theme for this month of “women, prosperity and moneyâ€. If prosperity and abundance are at one end of the scale and scarcity and poverty at the other, I wonder where generosity falls? I have observed large and small examples of generosity and have also observed what can happen when “generosity†becomes an “overused†strength. I have been personally challenged this month to express generosity of spirit through forgiveness, generosity of finances through sharing my money and generosity of heart through compassion and you know what, “generosity†doesn’t always come easily. There is sometimes a catch within, the questioning of “do I really have enoughâ€, “what do you mean, I am wrong†and “how could I possibly forgive that!†etc. Once I push through the questioning though and recommit to a deeply held value of generosity, something shifts and I can give freely. I am eagerly awaiting my copy of “Money is Love†to go deeper in my exploration of generosity, giving and the sacred origins of money!
