“International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.

Started as a political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries (primarily Russia and the countries of former Soviet bloc).
In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother’s Day and St Valentine’s Day mixed together. In others, however, the political and human rights theme as designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.”

So, your sacred self care enchantments for this week are all about honouring you as a woman!

Self Care Enchantments for the week:

1.    “Milepost” your life by doing a life timeline.  This is a simple exercise that brings awareness to where you have been and where you want to go. It is like a celebration of you. Just draw a straight line on a piece of paper and put an X in the middle of the line.  To the left of the line is your past.  Above the line note the events that were significant to you from a positive perspective and below the line, note the events that challenged you and helped you grow as a person.  You might include a significant birthday, death of a parent etc.Now, to the right of the X, do some dreaming and construct your vision of the rest of your life, using the same process.  You can enhance this exercise even more by adding photos and colour to it.
2.    Today, sit down and write out 21 unique qualities that make you an amazing woman.
3.    Call one of your special friends today and tell her how much sheyou’re your friendship means to you!
