“Inrageous/Outrageous Self-Care Enchantments” aka Tips for Feb 14, 2008

Happy Valentines Day!

How often do you think of yourself as your own valentine?  How often to you give yourself the care and attention that you give to others?  How often do you soften your heart and give yourself love?

Today and this week, in addition to all the other people in your life that you wish to honour and recognize on Valentines Day, make YOU your valentine too.

Catherine Ingram, in her excellent book “Passionate Presence: Experiencing the Seven Qualities of Awakened Awareness” talks about “heart language”.  She says “Heart language has one thing in common the world over.  It is the quiet offering of understanding to others without the demand for being understood oneself.”

I say to use heart language with yourself and give yourself the “offering of quiet understanding”.  Enchant your life and your heart this week with the following self-care enchantments:

Self-Care Enchantments

1. Start your day with a “loving kindness” meditation or prayer, say it a few times in the morning while in a calm and relaxed state.  It goes like this:
May I be filled with loving kindness
May I be well
May I be peaceful and at ease
May I be happy.

2. Give yourself the quiet offering of patience, understanding, loving care and attention.  Make YOU your valentine and give yourself a valentine’s gift.

3.  “Think with your heart and love with your mind” this week.
