Every Day is a New Day to Start Fresh!
It’s really helpful to have a morning routine that is a ‘positive energy charged way’ to start the day. This routine can be as short as three minutes or as long as you have time. The idea is to ‘book end’ your day with positivity and good thoughts for yourself and others. Here are three ways to do it:
1. First thing when you wake up, take 3 deep in and out breaths. You may chose to do one in breath for you and one out breath for a friend. Envision your day flowing forward peacefully. Next, add by saying out loud or to yourself, a positive /phrase, affirmation or saying, your intention for the day if you will.
2. Mentally ‘flush away’ anything that feels ‘toxic or negative’, left over or that you no longer wish to have in your life. Simply imagine these thoughts and feelings flushing out of your body into the beautiful loamy ground of a forest. If this includes people or relationships, wish these folks well, remember the good times with them and then imagine that friendship whisping away like a beautiful cloud.
3. Finish by sending goodwill and good thoughts to yourself and others. There are many ways to do this, you can use your own words or use some ancient phrases, the intention is to send out good thoughts and loving kindness.
These three steps can of course be modified and enhanced. You can add to this practice in many ways, however, through repetition, it becomes a life practice to meet each day with a feeling of warm heartedness, welcoming, openness and anticipation.
