Meditation Focus for the Week: Words of Wisdom

Topaz Lotus Yoga, Wellness & Inspired Living:

Words of Wisdom & Meditation Focus for the Week

Continuing with the “Yamas and Niyamas” by Deborah Adele as introduced by Jack and Soorya at Open Door Yoga Teacher Training, the mediation focus for the week is the Niyama or Observance:

“Saucha” which translates as purity.

“Saucha” invites us to purify our bodies, our thoughts and our words. ~ Deborah Adele

I am currently playing with this concept by lightening my personal expectations, purifying my thoughts, affirming that I ‘see’ the highest and best in myself and others, listening to my body, lightening up and having fun!

I’m listening to more music that I like (jazz) rather than the songs that my daughters have downloaded which through sharing an iTunes account, make their way onto my phone.

Recently, I purchased a gorgeous piece of art which speaks to me.

I am letting go of negative thoughts and toxic emotions.

In this process, I find that it is an intricate dance of balance as one can easily slip into self criticism by ‘not letting go well enough’. At these times I remind myself that everything is unfolding in divine and right timing.
