As part of my self-care, personal inspiration and summer fun, my husband and I are heading off to the Vancouver Folk Music Festival today.
Hopefully, we will be on our sailboat ‘Orion’, anchored off Jericho Beach. If not, we simply walk along the path and soak up the music and wonderful vibe!
The Folk Music Festival is a Vancouver institution and we have been going for many years. One sees all manner of hippies (young, old, new) and we always run into friends. The music is great too.
When I think of the folk festival, I am reminded of these words of wisdom from Janis Joplin
“Don’t compromise yourself. You’re all you’ve got.”
In Vancouver, there are certainly unique wild and wonderful characters who have lived life with no compromise and they all seem to gather at the Folk Festival!
